SE ME LO CHIEDI COSI', ALLORA CI VENGO

.
Dear UEFA Champions League Guest,

we take great pleasure in welcoming you to the final of the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome - one of the most famous European sports arenas.

The Stadio Olimpico will be staging the final of the European Champion Clubs' Cup for the fourth time. The home of Italian clubs AS Roma and their Serie A neighbours S.S. Lazio, the stadium proved lucky for English team Liverpool FC, who won the 1977 final there against Vfl Borussia Monchengladbach and repeated the trick seven years later against AS Roma.
That match went to penalties, as did the 1996 UEFA Champions League decider in wich Juventus defeated holders AFC Ajax. Other major events at the stadium have included the 1991 FIFA World Cup final, the 1987 IAAF World Championships in Athletics and the 1960 Olympic Games, for which the staium was constructed in 1953, set between the Tiber river and Monte Mario hill.

We would like you to join us in wishing the finalists a truly enjoyable experience on this great event. We hope that it will be an exciting, spectacular and memorable match, demonstrating the best qualities of football, played in a spirit of fair play and mutual respect.

We wish you a very pleasant evening.

Michel Platini - UEFA President
David Taylor - UEFA General Secretary
